We are thrilled to announce that PsyCare Ireland has been awarded funding from the Department of Justice’s Community Safety Innovation Fund to roll out our NITE (Nightlife Intervention & Training for Empowerment) programme across Ireland.
This landmark €81,100 grant marks a huge milestone for our organisation. Not only is it national recognition of the essential role we play in mental health and harm reduction, but it also enables us to launch 20 NITE training cohorts across the country over the next two years.
The NITE programme is a peer-led, early intervention initiative aimed at empowering 18–25-year-olds with vital skills to stay safe and support one another in nightlife and festival settings. Grounded in trauma-informed care and real-world experience, NITE equips young people with the knowledge to navigate substance use safely, regulate their mental wellbeing, and intervene effectively when a friend is struggling.
At its heart, NITE is about community empowerment. We believe that when young people are educated and supported, they become a force for safety, care, and compassion in spaces where risk is high and support is often lacking.
This funding will allow us to bring NITE to rural and urban communities alike, reaching young people where they are—whether that's through festivals, colleges, local youth groups, or nightlife venues. It represents a vital step in scaling our education and prevention strategy, and aligns perfectly with Ireland’s National Social Enterprise Policy goal of strengthening social impact through community-driven solutions.
We are deeply grateful to the Department of Justice for this support and proud to be included in the National Rural Safety Plan 2025–2027, highlighting the importance of
PsyCare’s role in national safety conversations.
Stay tuned as we share stories from the road, introduce our first NITE cohorts, and continue to build a safer, more caring Ireland—one empowered young person at a time.
